Short Stories are stories that are normally 2-3 pages long and gets to the point fast. Short Stories are good choices for the imaginative young writers that want to express their thoughts.

Paragraphs
Paragraphs are very important to any piece of literature. Many beginning writers get essays and other writing assignments wrong because they forget paragraphs! Paragraphs normally contains 5 spaces from the beginning line. Make sure you remember this, it comes in handy!

Punctuation
Punctuation is very important to all sentences. The comma is the most commonly used in stories, there are many places to put different punctuation marks. Punctuation's can alter a sentence by determining what part of the sentence goes first.

Word choice
Using complex words can entice your reader, using homonyms are good to keep your reading! I love using different words, using different words also expands your vocabulary and exposes your intelligence.

In order to make a short story you need to plan what you do first! Planning a story requiers patients and thought.

Editing
Editing is critical to a story. If a story does not have proper editing, it would look like literature from a 5 year old! Always keep a copy of the first draft, this is good for end of year evaluations. I didn't :-(

Planning

Plot line
Plot lines are the graphs of the stories. Plot line show how story builds up. Here's a graph.

There are 5 parts to a plot line: exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and the resolution.
1. Exposition = Introduction
2. Rising action = Suspense
3. Climax = Final battle
4. Falling action = Dramatic
5. Resolution = Aftermath

Adventure
Adventure, the best to let your imagination run wild! From running through swamps to flying in space, the adventure will surly thrill your reader!

Action
Action packed stories are good to keep your readers on the edge of their seats!

Story Diagrams
The main part in making a story is the diagram. Without a diagram, a story is just a few pages of words.

Plot
Plots are very important. In order to make a short story, you first must have a plot. The plot is the structure of a story; the plot normally is the brainstorming. You first think of a situation and place, then think of a character(s.) To plot a story, you should write your ideas on a piece of paper, this will help you remember them. Parts of a Short Story

Characters
The charecters are what makes a story a story! Without charecters a story would only be some words. Different charecters are good for different situations. Types of Stories
There are many kinds of stories. There are 3 main kinds of stories, the short story, Novelette, and Novel. The Novelette is a short version of a Novel, Novelettes go up to 50-75 pages, Novels go up to 100-1000 pages! Can you tell what a Novelette beginning ooks like?
